Aluminum Lanthanum Boron — — Special for al-si casting alloys
Al-La-B is a high-efficiency grain refiner suitable for A356 casting alloy, which has a strong ability to refine α-Al in A356 casting alloy, and can strengthen the modification effect of AlSr alloy on β-Si to a certain extent. The heterogeneous nucleation core is LaB6,with high melting point (2715℃), high hardness, low thermal expansion rate, and stable chemical properties. It can significantly enhance the wear resistance and hardness of cast alloys, improve fluidity, and enhance mechanical properties.

1. AlLaB has a strong refinement ability on A356 alloy,the addition amount can be reduced to 1/4~1/2 of AlTiB.
2. AlLaB can strengthen the modification effect of Al-Sr alloy.
3. The refinement effect of AlLaB can last 300mins without decline,which can further ensure the stability of the castings.
4. Rare earth elements can reduece the hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur content in aluminum and aluminum alloys, and will form binary compounds with harmful impurities with low melting point, which will float to slag, thus purifying aluminum liquid and improving product quality.
5. AlLaB has low Ti content and the LaB6 particles have no aggregation tendency, suitable for the production processes using large amount of foundry returns.
6. Adding 1% AlLaB, the average grain sizes of A356 casting can reach to 50~60 μm, which can make the ascast castings to obtain super high strength and plastic toughness.

Range of application
1. This product is suitable for refining the grain of Al-Si casting aluminum alloys during the refining process with aluminum titanium boron. Equiaxed crystals with sizes below 100–300 μm can be obtained with the addition of 1‰.
2. It has a long refining effectiveness time (up to 300 minutes without attenuation), making it especially suitable for products with lengthy production processes to avoid refinement failures that could affect product quality.
3. It can be used in processes involving a large amount of foundry returns, with no agglomeration or precipitation.

5. Adding Method:
(1) Adding in the Furnace: Remove the dross, evenly disperse this product into the molten aluminum, stir evenly, and let it stand for 5 to 15 minutes before casting.
(2) Adding to the Ladle: Place it at the bottom of the ladle before pouring in the aluminum melt, or add it to the chute when transferring the aluminum melt into the ladle.
Note: This product can be added together with modifiers, such as aluminum-strontium alloys. It is suggested to appropriately reduce the amounts of modifiers added by 10% to 20%, or adjust according to the actual situation based on experimental results.
