In the field of aluminum processing and casting, the requirements for the cleanliness of the solution have become higher and higher, in order to further reduce key product defects and improve the overall quality of aluminum products. For aluminum titanium boron grain refiner, even a small amount will inevitably introduce TiB2 agglomerates and more salt inclusions brought by its raw materials K2TiF6 and KBF4, which will affect the final aluminum product quality. Correspondingly, the TiC nucleation particles in AlTi5C0.2 are smaller, and are evenly dispersed in the melt, not easy to aggregate. The C powder in its raw material replaces KBF4, which greatly reduces salt inclusions. Therefore, it can better purify the aluminum melt and improve the quality of aluminum products. Fewer defects will also increase the fatigue life of aluminum structural components.
At the same time, TiB2 agglomerates are easy to cause the filter blockage, which reduces the filtering performance of the CFF filter for non-metallic inclusions (see the appendix for details). In addition, related experiments and investigations in the industry have shown that TiB2 and CFF filters have a strong tendency to adsorb, which further promotes filter clogging. Correspondingly, TiC is diffusely distributed, not easy to aggregate, and not easy to block the filter net, thereby further improving the filtering performance of the CFF filter and improving the cleanliness of the aluminum melt.
