Aluminum conductors are one of the important basic materials for wires and cables at present. Aluminum conductors must have sufficient mechanical properties while meeting high conductivity. Al-Ti-C-Pt is used as a special master alloy, which can obtain more and finer equiaxed crystals for the aluminum wire, improve the strength and plastic toughness of the material, reduce the degree of lattice distortion, and effectively reduce the resistivity of the material.
Its performance advantages to wire rods (1xxx pure aluminum, 6xxx Al-Mg-Si alloys, 8xxx aluminum alloys) mainly including the following aspects:
1. to improve the mechanical properties, especially the elongation, and do not impact the elelctric conductivity of the wire rods;
2. for Al-Mg-Si alloy wire rods, AlTi5C0.2Pt can even improve the electric conductivity by 1~3% relative increase rate;
3. when the elongation being significantly improved, the drawing breaking off rate will be decreased effectively, especially for the fine wires, such as φ0.2mm wires;
4. to enhance the productivity;
5. to stablize the quality of the wire rods, to decrease the defects.
