In November 2024, China's electrolytic aluminum industry saw both production cuts and expansions. Some aluminum plants in regions such as Henan, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Sichuan announced maintenance, closure, or slowed-down production plans due to environmental protection and operational pressures. On the other hand, new production emerged as Shuangyuan Aluminum in Guizhou completed the production of aluminum ingots in its Phase II project, scheduled to start full production by the end of December. Meanwhile, Xinfa Group in Xinjiang and Ningxia Ningchuang continued their ongoing production. In November, China's electrolytic aluminum capacity reached 44.62 million tons per year, with a running capacity of 43.74 million tons per year, an increase of 110,000 tons per year from the previous month. The monthly output was 3.606 million tons, down 3.4% from the previous month, but up 4.5% compared to the same period last year, with a daily output of 120,200 tons, down 0.2% monthly.

Looking at the same period last year, only North America and Oceania saw a decline in output, while other regions achieved growth, particularly Central and Western Europe with a growth rate of 7.0%. From a monthly perspective, various major regions showed varying degrees of growth, with South America and Oceania having the largest increases at 4.8%.
